Youth groups - Get involved with YCW!

There are many different ways that you can get involved in Young Christian Workers!

Youth GroupsYCW groups for 18 - 30 years old

If you are a young person aged between 18 and 30 years of age working, unemployed or at college you could become a member of a YCW Group. The YCW Movement brings young people together to take action but it is also a place to make friends, reflect on what's going on around us and play an active part in our Society.

As an International Movement, YCW is present in almost every country in the world offering opportunities to meet new friends and visit new and exciting places through exchanges and training sessions.

IMPACT! groups for 16 - 18 years old

If you are aged 16-18 years of age then why not join IMPACT!

IMPACT! groups meet locally to reflect on the needs of young people and to take action. IMPACT, like YCW, is run by young people themselves, they are the leaders and they decide what they want to do as a group.

Challenge to Lead

This exciting new project designed by young people for young people between the ages of 16-25 includes everything you need to start YCW and form a group of young leaders. The Challenge to Lead pack includes a DVD consisting of video clips presenting discussions starters and scripture reflections.

Challenge to Lead allows young adults to explore themes and issues which affect their lives as young workers, friends, family members, members of society, as consumers and as Christians.

Year of Evangelisation

The Faith in Action! programme has been specifically designed to enable young adults to make the link between their faith and their everyday lives in a real and meaningful way. If you are a young adult interested in issues of social justice and a practical experience of faith in action, then this is the programme for you!

Using the method of See, Judge, Act, Faith in Action! offers an opportunity for you to reflect on the Gospel of St. Luke and to take action in your daily life based on the message and values of the Gospel.

Representation

As an International Movement the Irish YCW regularly has opportunities for young people to represent the views of Irish Youth at international/European Formation Sessions, seminars and events. These events involve meeting young people from all over the world to discuss issues that affect young people and our society, to take actions that can influence decision makers and the institutions which control and dictate all our lives. If you are interested in participating in such events contact us at the YCW Office.

Campaigns and Actions

The YCW Movement regularly organises campaigns and actions on various issues relating to the lives of young people and in particular young workers.

Services

The YCW Movement offers many services in response to the needs of its members. Current services include C.V. service where young workers are assisted in developing their Curriculum Vitae. Contact us to avail of this service.
